Starfield is one of the most anticipated games for 2023. Now, it was supposed to release in the ‘first-half of 2023″, but Bethesda has delayed the release until September 6th, 2023. A Starfield-focused showcase will air on June 11th after the Xbox Games Showcase.

Starfield was initially delayed from a November 2022 release because Bethesda wanted to “ensure that [players] receive the best, most polished” version.

The official launch date was announced in this video posted by Bethesda and Todd Howard. They didn’t mention a reason for this delay.

We’ll get to see more of Starfield during a special Starfield Direct on June 11th, the Sunday before E3 week.

Starfield is described as a “next-generation” RPG set in space. It’s Bethesda Game Studios’ first new franchise in years. It’s like their other games, The Elder Scrolls or Fallout, but with space exploration and combat.

The main story is centered on the Constellation, the last group of space explorers. Bethesda is leaning heavily on character customization, with a flexible system that allows players to customize skin tones, facial structure, hair, and more. Starfield players can also pick three traits to customize for their characters, and the skill system will include unlocks and separate ranks. There are also resources to craft weapon mods on top of this. Bethesda says there are more than 1000 planets for players to explore.

So, are you excited for Starfield? The game launches exclusively on Xbox Series X/S and PC on September 6th, 2023. It will be available on day one on Xbox Game Pass.
