All you need to make a house a home is a vanilla-scented candle and a few ghouls. Welcome back to the Haunted Mansion.
Disney revealed a new teaser trailer for its upcoming spooky feature. Check it out below:
The movie draws inspiration from the beloved Disney theme park ride. (Which previously landed a feature adaptation back in 2003 with Eddie Murphy.)
The official synopsis for Haunted Mansion says:
In this mysterious adventure, a doctor and her 9-year-old son, looking to start a new life, move into a strangely affordable mansion in New Orleans, only to discover that the place is much more than they bargained for. Desperate for help, they contact a priest, who, in turn, enlists the aid of a widowed scientist-turned failed-paranormal expert, a French Quarter psychic, and a crotchety historian.
The film will star Rosario Dawson as the doctor who moves into the mansion, with Chase Dillon playing her young son. Rounding out the cast are LaKeith Stanfield as the paranormal expert; Owen Wilson as the priest; Tiffany Haddish as the psychic; and Danny DeVito as the historian.
The film comes from director Justin Simien (Bad Hair, Dear White People) and screenwriter Katie Dippold (Ghostbusters).
“As a lifelong fan of the Haunted Mansion attraction, I’m beyond excited to share the teaser trailer for our new film adaptation featuring an incredible cast,” said Simien. “Our team has worked tirelessly to create a scary, funny and cinematic otherworldly adventure for both new and die-hard fans to enjoy! I can’t wait for audiences to experience this big screen version of the iconic Disney attraction.”
You can enter the Haunted Mansion this summer starting July 28.
