You know how Lycoris Recoil is in the running for one of the best anime series of 2022, if not the best? Well, it seems the result is that the anime is doing so well, that they want to make more of it. Don’t believe me? A New Lycoris Recoil About to Bloom?

They really know how to hype up fans of Chisato x Takina, don’t they?

This new teaser video on YouTube announces that production of a new Lycoris Recoil anime has begun. Basically: season 2 is incoming. The video itself is made up only of scenes from the anime, but the story it tells with those scenes is interesting. You’ll notice that there’s a running theme throughout the video of depicting the relationship between main characters Chisato Nishikigi and Takina Inoue. In particular: the romantic aspects of their relationship. I mean, what else do you call it when Chisato picks Takina up and spins her around like they’re a lovey-dovey couple in a romantic comedy? It suggests that this new season of the anime will prominently feature them in said relationship. Maybe they’ll finally kiss onscreen? We can only hope so.

It’s not just that teaser video either though. The official Twitter account of Lycoris Recoil is also announcing the start of production for this new anime. They even explicitly add that “The story of the two will never end”. It further suggests that we’ll see Chisato and Takina officially become a couple in this new season.

Unfortunately, neither the teaser video nor the Twitter post gives any specifics about this new season of Lycoris Recoil. No production start date, no production staff, and certainly no release window. It’s something we’ll have to wait for A-1 Pictures to give us at a later time.
