Bob Odenkirk returns to AMC next month with Lucky Hank. And today, we’ve got the first full-length trailer for the series. Check it out below:
Lucky Hank serves up a mid-life crisis tale set at Railton College, told in the first person by William Henry “Hank” Devereaux, Jr. (Odenkirk, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad). Hank’s the unlikely chairman of the English department in a badly underfunded college in a working-class American town. His discontent is rooted in unresolved issues with his father, a mediocre and entitled student body, and in the fact that his department is more savagely divided than the Balkans.
Mireille Enos (Hanna, The Killing) also stars as Lily Devereaux, the emotionally grounded, unflappable wife of Hank and the Vice Principal of the local high school in rural Pennsylvania where they live. As Hank’s life starts to unravel, Lily begins to question the path she’s on and the choices she’s made.
The show’s series regulars also include Sara Amini, Diedrich Bader, Suzanne Cryer, Olivia Scott Welch, and Cedric Yarbrough.
Aaron Zelman and Paul Lieberstein adapted the series from the novel Straight Man by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Russo. Zelman and Lieberstein serve as co-showrunners and executive producers on the show.
Lucky Hank will get a huge multi-platform debut across AMC, BBC America, IFC, and SundanceTV, as well as AMC+. Catch it on your preferred network on Sunday, March 19 at 9pm ET/PT.
(And if you happen to be attending SXSW, you can catch the premiere a week earlier on March 11.)
