Something old? Something new? Iron Maiden has given us six new shirts as part of their Legacy Collection. The shirts are all either inspired by older shirts or reprints of classic designs for single album artwork for various songs. The six shirts include “Stranger In A Strange Land”, “Can I Play With Madness”, “The Wicker Man”, “The Reincarnation Of Benjamin Breeg”, “Flight Of Icarus”, and “The Clairvoyant”.
Check out the designs below and pre-order on the Iron Maiden website!
“Stranger In A Strange Land”
This is the single-release album art from Somewhere In Time‘s “Stranger In A Strange Land”. It shows off the alien/cowboy saloon that’s inspired by Clint Eastwood from spaghetti westerns.
“Can I Play With Madness”
The single-release album art for Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son shows off Eddie getting a fist rammed through his head. it’s grisly and awesome.
“The Wicker Man”
If you’re into the film The Wicker Man, you’ll love this shirt that shows off Eddie as the titular Wicker Man. Whether it’s Bruce burning virgins on stage during Rock In Rio or just an homage to the film, this is an awesome shirt.
“The Reincarnation Of Benjamin Breeg”
In one of the earliest uses of viral marketing, Iron Maiden created the Benjamin Breeg persona, gave him a biography, and even made him disappear to promote A Matter Of Life And Death. This shirt captures Eddie digging up what could be the remains of Benjamin.
“Flight Of Icarus”
“Flight of Icarus” was one of the first tracks to get Iron Maiden real radio airplay in the United States, so it’s definitely a special song for the band. It helps that this single-release album art has Eddie with a flamethrower burning Icarus up.
“The Clairvoyant”
Rounding out this drop in the Legacy Collection is “The Clairvoyant”. The single-release album art doesn’t really describe the song very well, but it’s still badass to see a version of Eddie with three faces spitting fire.
