Severance star Dichen Lachman will soon jump to another sci-fi role. The Hollywood Reporter announced today Lachman will appear in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
The upcoming Planet of the Apes flick is set years after the events of the last film, 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes, in which Caesar and his apes were pitted against an army of humans in a post-apocalyptic war to determine the fate of both of their species.
We don’t know anything about who Lachman will play in the film just yet. She will join previously announced cast members, including William H. Macy, Freya Allen, Owen Teague, and Kevin Durand.
Lachman’s previous credits include the Apple TV+ sci-fi series Severance. She also appeared in Jurassic World Dominion and lent her voice to General Atitaya in Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon.
20th Century Studios’ Planet of the Apes franchise began back in 1968. Since then, there have been many sequels and remakes. Notably, 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes helped the franchise achieve new and ongoing popularity.
Production on Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is currently underway. The film plans to release in 2024.
