Willem Dafoe and Robert Eggers previously teamed up for films like The Northman and The Lighthouse, and now they’re returning for Nosferatu. According to Deadline, Dafoe is in talks to join Focus Features Nosferatu. The film also stars Lily Rose-Depp, Bill Skarsgard, and Nicholas Hoult. Robert Eggers wrote the script and is in the director’s chair.
The new reimagining of the classic vampire tale is about an obsession between a haunted young woman (Rose-Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her. It’s unclear who Dafoe will be playing in the film.
Dafoe previously played Nosferatu in Shadow of a Vampire, earning him an Oscar nomination for his performance. He’s a busy man with projects coming up including Poor Things, And, Asteroid City, The Man In The Basement, and Dead For A Dollar.
