As usual, Marvel Studios reveals new information a trickle at a time. Today’s morsel of information? A bit of casting news for Captain America: New World Order.
Deadline revealed that Xosha Roquemore will join the film’s ensemble. However, it probably won’t surprise Marvel fans to learn we don’t actually know anything about who she might play in the movie just yet.
New World Order will be the MCU’s fourth Captain America feature. It will also be the first feature film seeing Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson as the title hero. (Wilson had the Captain America mantle passed on to him from Steve Rogers; Disney+ subscribers previously saw Mackie suit up as Cap in the Falcon and Winter Soldier series.)
In addition to Mackie himself, Roquemore joins a cast that includes Tim Blake Nelson, Harrison Ford, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, and Shira Haas. New World Order comes from writers Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, and director Julius Onah.
Roquemore’s previous credits include Space Jam: A New Legacy, Black Monday, The Mindy Project, and Atlanta.
Captain America: New World Order currently plans to release May 3, 2024.
In the meantime, Marvel fans can get ready to kick off Phase 5 with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania next month.
