Shout Factory are on a roll today with announcements of special features for Bubba Ho-Tep on 4K UHD and the announcement of Dr. Giggles coming to Blu-ray for the first time in the US. Now, they’ve hit us with plenty of news about new 4K UHD releases for several huge movies. Let’s get to the Shout Factory announcements.

Streets Of Fire

Coming from the Shout Select label, Streets of Fire is a musical action masterpiece from Walter HIll.

Amid a brooding rock & roll landscape, the Bombers motorcycle gang, led by the vicious Raven Shaddock (Willem Dafoe, John Wick), kidnap diva Ellen Aim (Diane Lane, Man Of Steel). Her hope for rescue lies with unlikely heroes: soldier of fortune Tom Cody (Michael Paré, Bad Moon) and his sidekick, the two-fisted beer-guzzling McCoy (Amy Madigan, The Dark Half). Joined by Ellen’s manager, Billy Fish (Rick Moranis, Ghostbusters), the trio plunges headfirst into a world of rain-splattered streets, hot cars, and deadly assassins.

This cult favorite features a razor-sharp cast and original songs written by Jim Steinman, Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty and Ry Cooder and performed by The Blasters and The Fixx. Directed by cult filmmaker Walter Hill (The Warriors, Southern Comfort, 48 Hrs.), Streets of Fire is a rock & roll shotgun blast to the senses.

The final specs and special features are coming soon, so stay tuned for that. You can pre-order this one on 4K directly from Shout Factory now!

Wanted

Wanted was a classic of the late 2000s action scene. The film gave us bullet-bending action and some of the most iconic scenes with stars James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie. Director Timur Bekmambetov and writers Michael Brandt, Derek Haas, Chris Morgan, Mark Millar, and J.G. Jones really set the table for future action movies with this one.

Wesley’s (James McAvoy) life is over — his pathetic, old one, anyway. Fortunately, it is all because of a girl. Enter sizzling-hot Fox (Angelina Jolie), who crashes into his life and introduces him to the Fraternity, a secret society of assassins, led by the enigmatic Sloan (Morgan Freeman). It seems Wes’ long-lost father was killed while working for the Fraternity … and Wes has been selected to target the rogue member who murdered him. But before he can complete his assignment, Wes must first uncover the dark secrets behind the Fraternity in order to determine his own destiny.

Special features and specs are coming later but Wanted releases on 4K UHD on March 28th, 2023. You can pre-order it right now from Shout Factory.

Critical Condition

Critical Condition is a Richard Pryor vehicle that sees him facing time in prison. Instead, he goes to Empire State Hospital. In a mix-up, he’s believed to be a doctor.

The symptoms? Acute tickling of the funny bone and severe belly laughs. The diagnosis? Richard Pryor in Critical Condition!

When a con artist named Kevin (Pryor) is framed for racketeering, he finds himself facing a lifetime in prison. Feigning insanity seems like the easy way to avoid the slammer, and Kevin is brought to Empire State Hospital for evaluation. But things get really nuts when a power outage hits, and the crazy-like-a-fox Kevin impersonates a doctor in order to make his escape. As the night goes on, chaos ensues … and Kevin finds that he’s the only one who can take charge and maintain order.

Critical Condition releases on Blu-ray from Shout Factory on March 21st, 2023. You can pre-order it from Shout Factory right now!
