In an interview with Tudum.com, series showrunners and executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar said:
“It’s been incredible to create a show that has connected with people across the world. Thrilled to continue Wednesday’s tortuous journey into season two. We can’t wait to dive head first into another season and explore the kooky spooky world of Nevermore. Just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first.”
The first season of Wednesday premiered on Netflix in November 2022. It quickly became one of the streamer’s most successful shows ever, crossing the 1 billion hour view mark within three weeks of its debut. The series currently ranks as Netflix’s #2 Most Popular English Language TV Series with 1.237 billion hours viewed within 28 days of release. (Only Stranger Things 4 and Squid Game have reached the 1 billion mark within the 28 day timeframe before.) We at THS also named it our top series of the year in 2022.
The show follows the member of the Addams family as she attends Nevermore Academy. In season 1, Wednesday attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.
Wednesday stars Jenna Ortega in the lead role. Gough and Millar write as well as executive produce. Tim Burton also executive produces and directs.
You can stream the first season on Netflix now. Check back to THS to learn more about the series, including the season 2 premiere date when it’s announced.
