With Star Wars: Andor and Tales of the Jedi released and done many Star Wars fans are excited for the next series heading our way, Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Created by executive producer Dave Filoni and starring Dee Bradley Baker, Michelle Ang, Rhea Perlman, Noshir Dala, and Wanda Sykes; Star Wars: The Bad Batch will stream exclusively on January 4th on Disney+. Thanks to our friends over at Disney+ I was able to get an early screening of this series to review and you will be able to check out my thoughts below.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2

Once again I will have to take a different approach to this review so as not to spoil anything for you all. When given the screener I was able to watch the first fourteen episodes. Taking place just months after the tragic events on Kamino, The Bad Batch Season 2 continues the story of Clone Force 99 and Omega as they continue to hide from the Empire and run mercenary missions to earn some credits to get by. Once again Dave Filioni does an amazing job in storytelling.

The storyline was fun, exciting, and very dark at times. it was as if we never had a break from the first season. We do get a new look for Omega and Clone Force 99 as they complete missions for Cid while still hiding from the Empire. During this time they run into some familiar faces and meet some new allies as well. But like before the story is not just about them. We also get a look at the Empire and learn more about what their plans are for the clones including Crosshair.

This season once again will test the limits of not only the Bad Batch and Omega, but also Crosshair, the clones, and even the Empire. You will see relationships tested while new ones are formed. On top of that, you will see not all that can be trusted should be. You will be introduced to new planets while even visiting some old ones from the past (no not Tatooine). Also be ready there are going to be some really dark moments.

My Final Thoughts On The Bad Batch

Yes, I know there are not a lot of details here but like I said I do not want to spoil anything for you all. Also, like I said I only got to watch the first 14 episodes, so I really can’t give my overall review until I do. The story was fun and at times exciting. It was neat to watch the Bad Batch and Omega grow not only as a team but as a family. It is also very interesting to see more from the eyes of the Empire as they phase out the clones.

Also, you will see a few easter eggs tieing into other Star Wars stories. There is one thing that did bug me a lot and without going into details it is from something that we learned about Omega in the first season. You will see what I mean after you see all the episodes. Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season is a must-watch. This series will be good for passing time until The Mandalorian Season 3 comes out.
