Evil Dead Rise is coming soon to theaters. However, because it’s the new year, and we’ve all been good, Bruce Campbell has decided to give us a little early look at the film. In advance of the trailer coming tomorrow, here’s the little teaser scene.

Campbell also promised that this would be the scariest film in the series. That will be difficult to top what Fede Alvarez did with the remake/requel he did in 2013. The new film is directed by Lee Cronin and brings the franchise back to theaters on April 21st, 2023. It stars Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher, Alyssa Sutherland, and Lily Sullivan.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for Evil Dead Rise.

In the fifth Evil Dead film, a road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A apartment. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.

Bruce Campbell, Sam Raimi, and Robert Tapert are all involved as producers on the film, with Campbell saying that the three have been “very involved” in the project.

He won’t be starring, but this is a brand new story in the Evil Dead universe.

We’ll have to see what it looks like when the full trailer releases tomorrow!
