Marvel closed out 2022 with the Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In doing so, the studio officially wrapped Phase 4, setting us up to kick off Phase 5 in 2023. So, which films and shows are coming next from Marvel Studios? Check out the 2023 slate (in chronological order) below.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania – February 17

Phase 5 kicks off with the return of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly). The third Ant-Man film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will explore the quantum realm. We don’t know much about the plot yet, but we do know the film will help kick off the plans of Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). The character was introduced at the end of Loki season 1, and will become the MCU’s next “big bad” for the new era.

Secret Invasion – Spring 2023

Jumping over to Disney+, it looks like the first Marvel series of 2023 will be Secret Invasion. (We don’t have official premiere dates for Marvel’s 2023 shows yet. But Secret Invasion is anticipated for a Spring 2023 release.)

Secret Invasion sees the return of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman), War Machine (Don Cheadle), and the Skrull Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), plus new characters played by Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke. The series will take more of a political thriller angle, focused on the Skrull invasion of Earth.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – May 5

The Guardians of the Galaxy return in 2023 with their third feature film. Vol. 3 will see Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Groot (Vin Diesel), and Kraglin (Sean Gunn) on a new universe-defending mission. They’ll also reunite with Gamora (Zoe Saldaña) circa 2014, and encounter new characters like Adam Warlock (Will Poulter) and the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji).

Echo – Summer 2023

Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez in Marvel's Echo, premiering 2023

Alaqua Cox reprises her Hawkeye role as Maya Lopez/Echo in her own spinoff series. The show will see her return home to confront her past. Echo will also feature Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) and Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox). Disney+ previously announced Echo would debut in summer 2023. However, an interview with showrunner Marion Dayre indicated the show may arrive later in the year. So until we get an official release date, consider this one a bit flexible.

Loki Season 2 – Summer 2023

Tom Hiddleston as Loki in season 2

The God of Mischief returns in 2023. Loki season 2 is anticipated to arrive in the summer, with Tom Hiddleston reprising his role. We don’t know much about the plot of this upcoming season. But the first saw Loki go up against the Time Variance Authority (TVA), meet his variant selves, and unleash new MCU villain Kang the Conqueror. So he’s probably got plenty on his plate this season, too.

The Marvels – July 28, 2023

The Marvels, premiering July 2023

It sort of feels like we’ve been setting up this sequel to Captain Marvel for forever now. But it seems like The Marvels is really on its way now. Which is pretty exciting, since it will see a teamup between Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). (We saw Monica get her powers in WandaVision, and of course Kamala recently wrapped up the first season of her show, Ms. Marvel.)

Ironheart – Fall 2023

Marvel's Ironheart, premiering 2023

Following her recent introduction in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) will hop over to Disney+ to lead her own series, Ironheart. She’ll be joined by cast members Anthony Ramos, Harper Anthony, Manny Montana, Lyric Ross, and Alden Ehrenreich.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos – Winter 2023

WandaVision spinoff Agatha: Coven of Chaos, premiering winter 2023

As WandaVision watchers know, it was Agatha all along… and now the villain (played by Kathryn Hahn) will head up her own witchy spinoff: Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Emma Caulfield Ford will also hop over from her WandaVision role. The cast also includes Joe Locke, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Sasheer Zamata, Aubrey Plaza, and Patti Lupone.
