If it was strange looking that Mandy Rose dropped the NXT Women’s Championship on a random episode of NXT last night to Roxanne Perez, it was. According to Fightful, the WWE has released Mandy Rose from her contract due to the content she was posting on her BrandArmy page. They felt like it was outside the parameters of her WWE deal.
BrandArmy is similar to OnlyFans or Patreon except the creator gets a massive amount of the tips, and they only work with creators that already have a large following. Creators on BrandArmy also can charge far more than creators on those other sites. WWE famously had an issue with their performers making money from these types of sites and others like Twitch. They wanted to create their own platform to control it better, but they never did. Eventually, the WWE relented and let the talent keep whatever outside revenue streams they used.
This release comes out of nowhere and it remains to be seen whether Mandy will stay in the wrestling business or keep doing her modeling. She was the third longest-tenured NXT Women’s champion of all-time before her loss last night.
