Today, we’re diving back into the Spider-Verse! Sony Pictures just dropped the official trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Check it out below.
Across the Spider-Verse is the sequel to 2018’s hugely successful Into the Spider-Verse. The feature will see Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) return for another epic multiverse adventure. Miles will join forces with Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld) and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a powerful villain, The Spot (Jason Schwartzman).
The feature will take fans even further into the Spider-Verse, introducing a number of new Spideys including Daniel Kaluuya as Hobie Brown / Spider-Punk. Other confirmed appearances include Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson), Miguel O’ Hara / Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac), (Daniel Kaluuya), and Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman (Issa Rae).
Today’s trailer is the first look fans have had at Across the Spider-Verse since Sony revealed a sneak peek at the film last December.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse comes from writers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Dave Callaham. Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson direct. Lord and Miller plan to host a YouTube Afterparty with Steinfeld following the release of the trailer. So, stay tuned for more updates on the film.
The original Into the Spider-Verse film won the Best Animated Feature Oscar, and brought in over $375 million worldwide.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will premiere in June 2023. The final film in the trilogy, Beyond the Spider-Verse, will arrive just under a year later in March 2024.
