Open your mind. Be transformed. And dive into a dark world of magic with Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches.

The new AMC series adapts Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches book trilogy. The show stars Alexandra Daddario as Rowan, an intuitive young neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. As she grapples with her newfound powers, she must also contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.

AMC revealed a new trailer for the series today. Check it out below.

“I’ve spent years building the life I thought I wanted. But there’s something inside of me. Something that I can’t explain, and I’m afraid I can’t control,” warns Rowan in a voiceover.

Mayfair Witches marks the second AMC series in the Anne Rice universe. Interview with the Vampire recently finished airing its first season, with a second confirmed to be on the way. Readers of Rice’s novels will know there is some crossover between these witch and vampire stories… So we may even see that translate to screen at some point.

Mark Johnson, executive producer on Interview, also executive produces Mayfair Witches. The 8-episode series comes from showrunner Esta Spalding.

Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches will premiere on AMC and AMC+ Sunday, January 8.
