You know how Disney and Marvel regained the license for Daredevil, and basically bought it back from Netflix? Complete with an upcoming new series heading to Disney+? Well, it’s starting to look like the blind lawyer will get along well with the merc with the mouth. As if the MCU needed 2 of them running around. How do I know this? Mostly because Daredevil’s actor seems to have a pretty big mouth of his own.
The Murdock with a Mouth?
According to IGN in a recent report, Charlie Cox, the actor behind Daredevil (AKA: Matt Murdock), claimed that the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again will be similar to Deadpool. Specifically: in terms of tone. It seems that during a panel in the German Comic Con at Dortmund, Cox mentions the following:
Because of the tone of our show, I think there’s a place for Daredevil to show up in Deadpool. Would be really cool…great, now that’s a news story.
So interestingly, it’s not just a comparison of similar tones between Daredevil: Born Again and Deadpool. Charlie Cox actually wants Matt Murdock to appear in a Deadpool film. Likely Deadpool 3 given that it’s the most recent film. That means that when Deadpool 3 comes out on November 8, 2024; we might very well get to see our blind lawyer superhero make an appearance there.
Of course, keep in mind that Cox’s desires aren’t exactly a confirmation of Daredevil’s presence in that film. Only Marvel Studios and Disney can do that. Thus, you might want to take this with just a grain of salt until we get official confirmation from them. Tune back in to THS later to find out when we do.
Daredevil: Synopsis
Want to know what Netflix’s Daredevil was like? Well, Disney+ has an official synopsis for us on the show’s new page there. You can check it out below:
Daredevil follows Matt Murdock, attorney by day and vigilante by night. Blinded in an accident as a child, Murdock uses his heightened senses as Daredevil, fighting crime on the streets of New York after the sun goes down. His efforts are not welcomed by Wilson Fisk — aka Kingpin — and others whose interests collide with those of Daredevil. Though Murdock’s day job portrays a man who believes in the criminal justice system, his alter ego suggests otherwise, as he takes the law into his own hands to protect his neighborhood.
You can check out all 3 seasons of Daredevil only on Disney+. It used to be that Netflix showed it because it was a Netflix original, but well, those times are long gone.
