“Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown” Reaches 4 Million Units Sold

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown was already the best-selling Ace Combat game in the entire series. It outsold even Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies, the previous best-selling title, by a very wide margin. Now it seems, that margin has grown even wider. What else would you call a grand total of 4 million units sold so far?

The Sky is Not the Limit for Ace Combat

Bandai Namco is very proud to report in an official press release on their website that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has officially reached 4 million total units sold. As I mentioned before, this already makes this latest Ace Combat game the best-selling Ace Combat game currently in existence. And by a very wide margin to boot. For comparison: Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies had a total of 2.64 million total units sold. If this keeps up, then it’s hard to see how any future Ace Combat game could possibly upstage Ace Combat 7, Skies Unknown. Although given how Bandai Namco and ILCA are already working on a new Ace Combat game, it’ll be fun to imagine such a game beating AC7‘s sales.

To commemorate this 4 million sales milestone, Bandai Namco’s press release also includes a bunch of commemorative wallpapers. You can see one such example above. The wallpaper depicts a F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, what looks like a CFA-44 Nosferatu (a fictional super fighter within the Ace Combat world), a Rafale, and an F-22 Raptor flying in close formation with each other.
