Quentin Tarantino is in the midst of a press tour for his new book Cinema Speculation, but that hasn’t stopped people from asking him what’s next. According a Q/A portion of his tour, he’s shooting a mystery eight-episode project in 2023. He didn’t give any production or narrative details about the project. This isn’t the first time he’s gone to the silver screen though. He directed two episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2005, and has been rumored to direct some episodes of the upcoming Justified revival on FX.
With Tarantino, it could be anything. He’s been connected to plenty of projects over the years, including an off-the-wall Star Trek film that unfortunately didn’t get made. His last film, Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood was fantastic and among the best he’s ever made. That film told the alternate history of the Charles Manson murders in the ’60s and starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie. We’ll have to see how this story develops. Could he be making an eight-episode narrative series? Or could it be a documentary-style look at cinema? We’ll keep you updated as we get news about it.
You can grab Cinema Speculation, Tarantino’s new collection of essays on films that were formative for him, wherever you get your books.
