With so many fantasy games getting TV adaptations, it’s only fitting that the Dragon Age games be the next games to get that in the form of Dragon Age: Absolution. Even better, Netflix has just revealed when we’re going to get to see this animated series with a new trailer. From the looks of said trailer, Netflix apparently wants to emulate their success with Dota: Dragon’s Blood and Arcane with this new series. Don’t believe me? Then you can check out that trailer for yourself below:

The New Dota: Dragon’s Blood?

It certainly has a similar art style to Dota: Dragon’s Blood.

Netflix is officially announcing Dragon Age: Absolution with the equally as official trailer above on YouTube. The trailer reveals that this new animated fantasy series from Red Dog Culture House (Love, Death & Robots) and Bioware (Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Star Wars: The Old Republic) is going to be a heist story. You know, kind of like Super Crooks, but with less superheroes/supervillains and more elves and other fantastical elements. In fact, Netflix has a synopsis ready for us today along with that trailer. You can check it out below:

When a heist against the most powerful man in Tevinter goes south, an elven mercenary named Miriam (Kimberly Brooks) is forced into a desperate fight for survival. Now, to save herself and her friends, Miriam will have to confront the tragic past she’s spent a lifetime trying to escape.

In the same trailer though, Netflix also gives us a debut date for the series. Apparently, we’ll see Dragon Age: Absolution make its grand debut on December 9, 2022. Of course, this series will be only on Netflix due to being a Netflix exclusive. So if you want to watch this series and see if it’s any good, then you’re going to have to shell out cash for a paid Netflix subscription. My advice though is to wait for the reviews before spending your money on it.

Dragon Age: Absolution ~ More Details

"Dragon Age: Absolution" key art.
Heist stories depend on the crew to be fun, and this crew does indeed look to be up for the job.

That’s not all that Netflix has for us today, folks. They also have a list of voice cast for Dragon Age: Absolution, as well as the characters they play. Plus a brief description of the characters as a teaser. In fact, said descriptions reveals that there will be yuri in this series. Between the female MC and one of the female members of the main cast to boot. Admittedly, it seems to be a bit of a dramatic yuri relationship. Would be nice to get a bit of fluff between them to break up the edginess. However, there might not be time for that. Especially since the series is only 6 episodes long. Ah, oh well. One can dream.

But enough talk from me. You can check out the full list of voice cast and characters for Dragon Age: Absolution below:
