MCM Comic Con has been going from strength to strength in the UK and this year proves no different.
The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself
We took the time to check out a brand new Netflix show filmed here in the UK. The Bastard Son and The Devil Himself dropped on Friday, Day one of the event at the ExCel London. The show brought cast and creators to talk to fans with a panel and a special signing event.
The show stars Jay Lycurgo who you might recognize from DC’s Titans season 3. It follows Nathan the son of a notorious witch responsible for a massacre. He finds himself caught in the fight between two supernatural factions and must discover his own powers and decide what sort of person he will become. It is based on the Half-Dead Trilogy by Sally Green.
Lycurgo along with Nadia Parkes, Emilien Vekemans, David Gyasi, and Joe Barton came to both a panel with fans and a press talk. From the opening seconds of the trailer, we can see that this is a more adult approach to the world of magic. The cast themselves highlighted the inevitable comparisons with a certain boy wizard though the differences are still stark. There is a central love triangle that is approached in a different way in the show which is refreshing to see.

The Roman Catholic Church combats a global rise in demonic possessions by reopening schools to train priests to perform exorcisms. Although nuns are forbidden to perform this ritual, a professor recognizes Sister Ann’s gifts and agrees to train her. Thrust onto the spiritual frontline, she soon finds herself in a battle for the soul of a young girl who’s possessed by the same demon that tormented her own mother years earlier.
Colin took questions from members of the press regarding the Prey For The Devil.
