Black Adam had its world premiere on Wednesday night and critics are already sharing their early reactions. The film stars Dwayne Johnson as the titular anti-hero and tells the origin of Teth-Adam, an ancient Egyptian slave who is granted the powers of gods. The early praise the film is getting must be welcome news to Warner Bros. and DC Films. The DC Extended Univers has been embroiled in turmoil as of late, with Batwoman and the Ezra Miller situations. WB Discovery Studio Executives were hoping that Black Adam would right the ship and give DC a win, and based on the first reactions, it appears as though they have succeeded.

BLACK ADAM IS EPIC AND GAME-CHANGING

With Dwayne Johnson, audiences have come to expect top-notch action, and it appears Black Adam delivers. Critics are praising the action calling it “epic”, “non-stop”, and a “game-changer”. The film is the first entry in the new 10-year plan from DC Films, and if audiences agree with the early reactions, the plan will be off to a good start.

PRAISE FOR THE CAST

It’s not only the action and Dwayne Johnson receiving praise from journalists. The co-stars of Black Adam, Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman are also being praised. With some already calling for more Justice Society of America films to be made

BLACK ADAM ARRIVES ON OCTOBER 21

Audiences will not have much longer to wait to experience Black Adam for themselves and make their own judgments. The film will premiere in theatres on October 21. Early box office projections are estimating between  $70-75 million opening weekend. This would put it somewhere in the middle of DCEU box office returns. Time will so tell if audiences flock to theatres to watch the film breathe some much-needed life back into the DC Extended Universe.
