Nothing says spooky quite like a Henry Selick stop-motion animation feature. The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline, and soon, Wendell & Wild.
Selick’s latest feature will hit Netflix later this month, just in time for Halloween. But you can get a sneak peek now by checking out the latest trailer below.
In addition to Selick, the feature boasts plenty of other talent, including the reunion of Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key.
Here’s the official synopsis for Wendell & Wild from Netflix:
From the delightfully wicked minds of Henry Selick and Jordan Peele, comes Wendell & Wild, an animated tale about scheming demon brothers Wendell (Key) and Wild (Peele) – who enlist the aid of 13-year-old Kat Elliot – a tough teen with a load of guilt – to summon them to the Land of the Living. But what Kat demands in return leads to a brilliantly bizarre and comedic adventure like no other, an animated fantasy that defies the law of life and death, all told through the handmade artistry of stop motion.
Selick directs the animated feature, which he co-wrote with Peele. The film also features music by Academy Award nominee Bruno Coulais (Les Choristes).
In addition to Key and Peele, the voice cast also includes Angela Bassett, James Hong, Ving Rhames, Tamara Smart, Natalie Martinez, Tantoo Cardinal, Gabrielle Dennis, Igal Naor, David Harewood, Maxine Peake, Ramona Young, Sam Zelaya, Seema Virdi, and Gary Gatewood.
Wendell & Wild premieres October 28 on Netflix.
