From Marvel to Star Trek to Lord of the Rings – LA Comic Con is bringing stars from some of the biggest fandoms this year. The Con just announced Simu Liu, Marvel’s Shang-Chi, will headline LACC on Friday, December 2. Plus, the lineup of confirmed guests also includes Elijah Wood and Sean Astin of Lord of the Rings and Wil Wheaton of Star Trek: Next Generation. Wheaton will headline Saturday, December 3.

In addition to playing a Marvel superhero, Liu is known for his award-winning CBC TV sitcom, Kim’s Convenience. He previously lent his voice to Star Wars: Visions, and will appear in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Barbie movie.

Wood, known as Frodo Baggins in Lord of the Rings, also starred in Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. His voice acting roles include Over the Garden Wall and Star Wars Resistance.

Astin played Samwise Gamgee in the Lord of the Rings trilogy; he’s also known for numerous other TV and film roles, including The Goonies and Stranger Things. Astin has also lent his voice to franchises like DC and TMNT.

Wheaton is known for his Star Trek role as Wesley Crusher. He also voiced Aqualad in Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go!. Some of his other credits include Stand By Me and The Secret of NIMH.

While every con is unique, we believe that the 2022 L.A. Comic Con will be a true celebration and fan favorite for its guests, panels, cosplay, and immersive experiences.”

LA Comic Con also recently revealed more voice actors who will participate in panels and fan meet-and-greets at this year’s event. Talent includes Sean Schemmel, known as the voice of Goku from Dragon Ball Z; Tia Ballard from Fairy Tail, Kamisama Kiss, and Fruits BasketIan Sinclair from Dragonball Super, My Hero Academia, and Kakkai Sense; Kyle Phillips, known for My Hero Academia, Infinite Dendrogram, and One Piece; and Sonny Strait of Dragonball Z, Full Metal Alchemist, and One Piece.

Additional guests will be announced in the coming weeks, with the full LACC 2022 schedule arriving in November.
