Out of all the possible collaborations BLEACH (specifically: BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War) could do, did you think a collaboration with Coca-Cola could be one of them? I didn’t think so either. And yet, that’s what’s happening.

Soul-Flavored Coca-Cola Inbound?

Oh, goodie. I’ve always wanted to know what a soul tastes like.

Coca-Cola revealed on their official Twitter account that they’re doing a collaboration with BLEACH to produce a limited edition soda. Apparently, this limited edition flavor will be “Soul Blast”, with the can featuring Ichigo Kurosaki on it in his bankai form. You can really tell that they’re leaning on the BLEACH angle to sell this soda. In fact, you can check out an ad for this soda that features “Number One” below:

I never expected “Number One” to be used like this.

According to the promo art, this “Soul Blast” soda will be a zero sugar/zero calorie cola, which is likely to give it a taste similar to Diet Cola. However, we don’t know the exact artificial sweetener they’re going to use, so what exactly it will taste like it still up in the air for now.

To top it all off, according to Crunchyroll, this BLEACH and Coca-Cola collaboration will even include a pop-up store in Shinjuku, Japan specifically to sell this soda right out of on-site vending machines. As well as assorted merchandise like T-shirts, badges, and key chains. There’s even going to be an AR game and a special photo area. Check it out below:

I see BLEACH everywhere.

Which according to the Twitter announcement and promo art is on October 10, 2022. Coincidentally, this is also the exact date BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War will make its premiere. Or maybe not so coincidentally, considering that this collaboration is explicitly because of the premiere of this latest and final season of the anime. I guess in order to find out what this new soda will taste like, we’ll just have to wait for Ichigo and Yhwach to make their debut. It might also be when we can find out if we can get this soda in NA. Tune back in to THS later to find out if we do.

BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War ~ Details

I see it’s the Quincies’ time to shine. Kind of.

BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War is the latest and final season of the BLEACH anime, which itself is the anime adaptation of the supernatural adventure manga series of the same name by Tite Kubo (Zombiepowder, Burn the Witch). Pierrot (Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, Black Clover) will return as the animation studio behind this anime. Tomohisa Taguchi will direct this anime, with all other production staff and voice talents presumably returning to reprise their roles. Lastly, Viz Media licensed this anime for its NA release.

As for what BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War is about? Well, while we don’t have an official synopsis for this season yet, we do have an synopsis for the anime in general from Hulu. Check it out below:

“For as long as he can remember, Ichigo Kurosaki has been able to see ghosts. But when he meets Rukia, a Soul Reaper who battles evil spirits known as Hollows, he finds his life is changed forever when Rukia transfers most of her powers to him. Now a Soul Reaper himself with a new found wealth of spiritual energy, Ichigo discovers his true calling: to protect the living and the dead from evil. But when Rukia’s actions are called under scrutiny, Ichigo and his friends must put everything on the line to prepare to save their friend from the harsh justice of the Soul Society.”

You can now catch up on all previous seasons of BLEACH only on Hulu. Because Crunchyroll apparently lost the rights to stream the anime.
