Halloween might still be over a month away but that does not mean you can’t get into the Halloween Spirit. From candy to costumes there is always a lot to think about each and do each October. Well, today I thought let’s take a break from that thinking and remember the good old days by checking out five vintage Halloween commercials that more than likely made you excited for this spooky holiday as a kid. So go ahead and sneak some candy out of those bags you got for the trick-or-treaters and sit back and enjoy these commercials from the past.
Top Five Vintage Halloween Commercials
As a kid, there was nothing more exciting than picking out your new costume for Halloween. But that was not the only thing that made this Holiday exciting. From decorations to fast food many marketing teams had us glued to the TV to see what was new heading our way in October. So for this top five list, I picked some of my favorite Halloween commercials from the past 45 years that still make me smile today.
McDonald’s Halloween McNugget Buddies (1996)
First, we will head to the year 1996 and to one of my favorite places as a kid, McDonald’s. Here we get to see some spooky McNugget Buddies toys that I wish I still had.
Pizza Hut Pizza Head Show
If you are a fan of the classic Mr. Bill show then you will love this Pizza Hut commercial starring Mr. Bill… I mean Pizza Head. Just watch out for Count Steve.
Woolworth and Woolco Halloween Costumes
We are really jumping into the time machine for this one. This Woolworth and Woolco commercial from 1978 gives us a look at some amazing Star Wars and Marvel costumes.
Boo Berry, Count Chocula, and Franken Berry
If you are a cereal fan then you know that Halloween is one of the best times of the year. That’s when our favorites Boo Berry, Count Chocula, and Franken Berry rise from the dead and fill our cereal bowls with Halloween goodness. Here is a commercial from 1981 featuring Count Chocula and Boo Berry.
McDonald’s Halloween Buckets
Well, it looks like McDonald’s has taken two spots in this top-five list. We now travel to the year 1990 when McDonald’s put that Happy Meal goodness in some kick-ass Halloween Pails.
