Say hello to the Thunderbolts. During San Diego Comic Con, Marvel revealed Thunderbolts would close out Phase 5 of the MCU. This weekend, the studio hit the stage at D23 Expo to tease a little more about the project. Check out the official Thunderbolts team lineup below.
The squad includes Hannah John Kamen as Ghost, David Harbor as the Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier. Heading up the team will be Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova. The film will also feature Julia Louis Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
Jake Schrier directs the feature, which begins filming next year.
If you don’t know anything about the Thunderbolts, consider them the Marvel equivalent of DC’s Suicide Squad. They’re a group of villains (or characters who were villains at one point) that have to work together for General Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross. (However, there’s speculation that Marvel has been planting seeds for Dreyfus’ character to be the one to bring the team together.)
Thunderbolts is currently slated for a July 26, 2024 release.
