Fans of Deltarune: there will unfortunately not be any new chapters anytime soon. On the other hand, though, Toby Fox is promising something “special” for the game’s anniversary, so this might make up for the bad news.
A Chapter-less Year?
In a recent Twitter post, Deltrarune developer Toby Fox made some big announcements about the game. You can see the Tweet above. According to it though, there will be no new chapters of the game for this year in 2022. That might hint at a 2023 release date for any new chapters, but even that’s just pure speculation for now. Take it with a grain of salt until we hear anything official from Toby Fox. Speaking of which, in case the Tweet above won’t display for some reason, you can find the exact words of said Tweet below:
“We won’t be able to put out any new chapters of DELTARUNE this year… But as usual, we have a little something specil planned for the anniversary of UT/DR Ch2… See you next week!”
Fortunately, there is hope. Toby Fox in the same Tweet mentions that they have something “special” [sic] planned for the anniversary of both Undertale and Deltarune Ch. 2. Both of them released in September, with the former seeing a September 15, 2015 release date and the latter seeing a September 17, 2021 release date. This means this special thing is coming next week, as of this writing. Fox is remaining pretty tight-lipped about what this anniversary special might be though. All we can do is hope that it will tide us over until Deltarune Ch. 3. Tune back into THS next week to find out when we do.
Deltarune: Details
Deltarune is a fantasy RPG game that’s also a sequel(?) or possibly spinoff(?) of Undertale. Toby Fox is both the developer as well as the publisher alongside 8-4 for the Japanese localization. Fox is also the designer, programmer, writer, and composer; with Temmie Chang and Kanotynes as artists.
As for what Deltarune is about? Well, Steam has an official synopsis for the game on its store page. Check it out below:
