Are you looking for new releases in Film or Television to watch this weekend of September 2nd!? Well, THS has you covered in our weekly series! So, make sure to come back each week as we compile all of our recommendations for you to check out on your days off.
However, I wanted to break down this list and make it a little more personal. Kind of like when you walk into a book store and see the wall of employee recommendations. So, I’ll be breaking down this list as to what we at THS are watching, not necessarily every single thing releasing.
JESSICA’S WATCHING
I’m gonna kick off the Halloween season (yes it starts in September, don’t judge me) by watching Devil in Ohio on Netflix. Plus I’ll probably swing over to Prime Video to see if all that money Amazon dumped into the new Lord of the Rings series paid off. Oh, and apparently movie tickets are going to be $3 Saturday, so I’ll be at the theater for sure. (I don’t even know for what yet, but I’ll be there.)
RHETT’S WATCHING
I’m going to see the Spider-Man: No Way Home extended edition in theaters! (Of course, the one with that funny, long title.)
SARAH’S WATCHING
It’s romcom and spooky season! So, I’m gonna be checking out Love in the Villa on Netflix. As well as, Everything I Know About Love on Peacock. I can’t wait to check out Devil in Ohio, also on Netflix. Then, I’m checking out the new MGK movie, One Way.
TRAVIS IS WATCHING
I’ll be watching the latest episode of Blood and Treasure on Paramount+. Over on Disney+, I’ll be catching the latest episode of She+Hulk.
LINSAY’S WATCHING
I’m checking out the new episode of She-Hulk on Disney+, as well as the new LOTR on Prime Video. Then, I’m also going to check out the new season of See on AppleTV+. I also have a few episodes of Resident Alien to catch up on SyFy. I finally caught up on What We Do in the Shadows and Reservation Dogs on Hulu.
BENJY’S WATCHING
I’m planning on finishing watching Dota: Dragon’s Blood Book 3 on Netflix, and then finally get to watch Spy x Family with my last month of Hulu since I found out that it’s streaming there.
JJ’S WATCHING
I’m checking out The Samaritan on Prime Video. Then, Top Gun: Maverick on Digital on Demand!
DARRYL’S WATCHING
I’m planning to watch EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE, CONTROL (stars Sara Mitich) and UNTITLED HORROR MOVIE.

EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT LOVE
The central love story of Everything I Know About Love is between childhood best friends Maggie and Birdy. But it is also a raucous girl gang show, set in a 2012 London house-share inhabited by four girls – Maggie, Birdy and their mates from university, Amara and Nell. The series is an unflinching deep dive into bad dates, heartaches and humiliations and begs the question: can platonic love survive romantic love as we grow up?

NEW ON PRIME VIDEO SEPTEMBER 2ND!!
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and one of the greatest villains that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.
Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared reemergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the farthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.
