Netflix is entering the Russo Brothers era. As The Gray Man breaks viewership records for the platform, Joe and Anthony Russo are turning towards their next streaming project, The Electric State.
The upcoming feature previously revealed it will star Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt. Today, Deadline revealed even more of the star-studded cast. Joining Brown and Pratt for The Electric State are actors Michelle Yeoh, Stanley Tucci, Jason Alexander, Brian Cox, and Jenny Slate.
The film adapts the illustrated novel by Simon Stålenhag. Set in a retro-futuristic past, an orphaned teenager (Brown) traverses the American West with a sweet but mysterious robot and an eccentric drifter in search of her younger brother.
Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely adapted the book to script, which the Russos will direct.
No details yet on who each actor will play in the film. But Cox and Slate are rumored to be voicing CGI characters.
The Russos recently directed Netflix’s hit The Gray Man. The film performed so well for the streamer, it immediately greenlit both a sequel and a spinoff.
