Did you all know that Godzilla has an official pinball tournament? Me neither. At least, not until I watched this announcement for the Godzilla Stern Pinball Heads-Up Pinball Invitational. Check it out below:

Pinball King of the Monsters?!

I never knew this was a thing until now.

The official Godzilla Twitter account is proud to announce the Godzilla Stern Pinball Heads-Up Pinball Invitational. This will be a pinball tournament specifically featuring the participants playing on Godzilla-themed pinball machines. In fact, the grand prize of this tournament is an official Godzilla-themed Stern pinball machine for the winner to take home. It’s a nice prize both for Godzilla fans and pinball fans alike. Even if the winner likely has to borrow a truck or larger vehicle to take said pinball machine home. Those things weigh a ton. Almost literally, since the average weight of a pinball machine is about 325 pounds. The winner might very well need help just to carry it out.

Apparently, this Godzilla Stern Pinball Heads-Up Pinball Invitational will be held on August 10, 2022 at 7:00 PM (CST). As of this writing, it’s less than a day away, so you won’t have long to wait to watch this if you want to. You can watch it live on GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO on YouTube.

There are not much details about the Godzilla Stern Pinball Heads-Up Pinball Invitational. Likely due to how niche the tournament is, I suspect. Unfortunately, there are just not that many people into Godzilla-themed pinball machines, let alone tournaments for them. It’s probably more the combination of Godzilla fans and pinball fans rather than just Godzilla-theme pinball fans specifically who is making this tournament possible. The former 2 have a much bigger fanbase than the lattermost genre, after all. Even if you’re talking about the individual fandoms alone rather than them combined.

Nevertheless, there is an official synopsis in the video description of the GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO YouTube channel where the livestream of this tournament will take place in. A rather short synopsis, but still a synopsis nonetheless. You can check it out below:
