It was part of a large social media push and the following couple of posts, but it’s official, Klondike is discontinuing the Choco Taco.
Now this isn’t anything close to an official announcement, but the fine folks at TheTakout verified with Klondike’s Call Center that the sweet treat was gone. The Choco Taco has been discontinued in one and four-pack varieties, which means that the units sold in ice cream trucks and at grocery stores were done. When asked for comment, Klondike replied that the decision was made for a variety of reasons, as well as to make room for newer options.
The Choco Taco has been an ice cream truck staple since 1984. Now, whether or not a huge social media push and outrage can get Klondike to change their mind, remains to be seen.
It’s a disappointing turn of events for sure. If you can get some Choco Tacos, do so, because they might be the last ones you’ll ever eat.
