The Godzilla universe is going to welcome the Russell family. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wyatt and Kurt Russell will both star in the upcoming Godzilla and the Titans. The series will air on Apple TV+ and is part of the Monsterverse that they’ve been building. While their roles weren’t unveiled in the report, they’re joining a cast that also includes Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski. The plot outline goes like this:
Following the battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the new reality that monsters are real, the untitled series will explore one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.
WandaVision director Matt Shakman will direct the first two episodes of the series. Chris Black and Matt Fraction co-created the series with Black serving as Showrunner.
The Monsterverse continues from 2014’s Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Godzilla Vs. Kong.
This isn’t the first time that Wyatt and Kurt have been in the same project however. Wyatt Russell played a younger version of Kurt’s character in the 1998 film Soldier.
