Yet another actor just joined Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. Long time TV vet Adam Scott will play a role in Madame Web.
Madame Web will tell the origin story of the title character, a woman with powerful psychic abilities that allow her to see across the spider-world. Scott joins previously announced lead Dakota Johnson; as well as Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, Emma Roberts, Celeste O’Connor, Tahar Rahim, and Mike Epps.
Despite knowing about quite a few cast members at this point, details about the plot and characters within the film are being kept under wraps. So, we don’t know what Scott’s role in the film will look like.
Madame Web draws from the Marvel comics character created by writer Denny O’Neil and artist John Romita Jr. The film is expected to slot in with the others in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, including Venom, Morbius, and the upcoming Kraven the Hunter film.
Scott may be best known for his long-running role on the popular sitcom Parks and Rec. However, now the actor is making waves over at Apple TV+. He recently landed an acting nomination for his role in the sci-fi drama Severance. The series scored a total of 14 nominations overall. Scott also recently completed filming on the Party Down revival.
Madame Web will release in theaters July 7, 2023.
