The film adaptation of Jason Robert Brown’s 13: The Musical is almost here! Now, Netflix has finally given us a trailer and first look images. Not to mention, you can now pre-save the official soundtrack.

WHAT IS 13 THE MUSICAL?

13: The Musical follows a boy named Evan Goldman. After his parents’ divorce, 12-year-old Evan (Eli Golden) moves from the bright lights of New York City to a small town in Indiana. Now living with his mother, Jessica (Debra Messing), and with his Bar Mitzva quickly approaching, Evan is devastated that he has to leave his friends, father (Peter Hermann), and his Rabbi (Josh Peck) behind.

Now, he must master the new social circles of his new school, wins friends, and throw the coolest party ever! But, as an outsider figuring out his new dynamics, Evan quickly learns that he’s not the only one dealing with the anxieties of eighth grade. His new friends Patrice (Gabriella Uhl) and Archie (Jonathan Lengel) deal with the fate of the planet, and unrequited love. Popular cheerleader Lucy, plots to save her first kiss for her crush Brett and BFF Kendra (Lindsey Blackwell). 

To make matters worse Evan decides to invite the popular kids to his party, but they aren’t fans of Patrice. With all of these complications, Evan faces the impossible task of bringing everyone together, or else risk social ruin. Now it seems turning 13 isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

13: the musical is based on the popular musical that debuted on Broadway in 2008. Directing the film adaptation written by Robert Horn is Tamra Davis (Crossroads). Music and Lyrics by Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years) 

Starring in the film is Debra Messing (Will & Grace), Rhea Perlman (Matilda), Josh Peck (Turner and Hooch), and Peter Hermann (Younger). Also starring in the film are McCrary (The Lion King), Frankie McNellis (Honey Girls), Lindsey Blackwell (David Makes Man), and Ramon Reed (Just Roll With It). As well as newcomers Eli Golden, Gabriella Uhl, Jonathan Lengel, Nolen Dubuc, Luke Islam, Shechinah Mpumlwana, Kayleigh Cerezo, Willow Moss, Liam Wignall, and Khiyla Aynne.
