Get ready Wild Cats! Disney+ and Walt Disney Records are giving viewers a sneak peek of a “new song” for season 3 of HSMTMTS! “It’s On” is available today on DisneyMusicVEVO!
Set at Camp Shallow Lake, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” season 3 takes on a sleepaway camp in California. The Wildcats and their fellow campers are ready for an unforgettable summer full of romance, curfew-less nights, and a taste of the great outdoors.
So, as we know, every season of HSMTHTS showcases a new musical production. This time, they’re taking on “Frozen“. So, where does this “new song” come into play? Midseason, the campers are divided into two teams for Camp Shallow Lake’s annual Color War. This is where the group number “It’s On” is performed! So, what is a color war you may ask? Well, it’s an all-camp competition where rivalries are not only formed, but encouraged!

If “It’s On” sounds familiar to you, you’ve probably been watching Disney Original movies your whole life. The song was originally featured in Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam! “It’s On”, was written by Toby Gad, Lyrica Anderson, and Kovasciar Myvett, as well as produced by Alana Da Fonseca with series choreography by Zach Woodlee.
Series creator and showrunner Tim Federle couldn’t help but comment on the music for season 3!

Season 3 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series premieres on Wednesday, July 27 on Disney+. The original soundtrack will be released on Friday, September 16 on CD and digital formats, with new music, as well as released weekly with each episode.
