Did you spend your weekend marathoning the final two episodes of Stranger Things season 4? You’re not the only one. The series just broke a huge streaming record on Netflix.
According to the streamer’s initial measurement, Stranger Things 4 has racked up over 1.15 BILLION hours of viewing time. This includes 930.32 million hours for the first seven episodes of the season, which premiered on May 27. The final two episodes of the season, which dropped July 1, brought in an additional 301.28 million hours within three days.
Netflix offers these viewing stats on a 28-day window from initial release, meaning streams from July 4 onward aren’t factored in. Still, at 1.15 billion streams, that makes Stranger Things 4 Netflix’s most watched English language series yet. The figures land it at the platform’s second most-watched show overall, falling behind – you guessed it – Squid Game at 1.65 billion hours.
The second part of the season follows the show’s trend-setting record; the first episodes of season 4 had the biggest premiere weekend ever for Netflix, with 286.79 million hours viewed. (In other words, somewhere around a third of Stranger Things fans binged the season on its premiere weekend.)
Unsurprisingly, the series also spent the weekend ranking in Netflix’s Top 10 shows.
You can stream the full four seasons of Stranger Things on Netflix now.
