We got a wonderful 4th of July surprise from Scream Factory this year. Today, they announced 4K UHD versions of John Carpenter’s The Fog, Fede Alvarez‘s 2013 remake of Evil Dead, and Army of Darkness. The Fog has the most extras of the three involved with over 10 variations on what you can buy for it.

Here’s what’s included in the most deluxe ShoutFactory offer:

  • The Fog [Collector’s Edition] 2-Disc 4K UHD/Blu-ray set (with slipcover)
  • The Fog [Limited Edition Steelbook] 2-Disc 4K UHD/Blu-ray set
  • An exclusive, limited edition 8” Stevie Wayne action figure by NECA, authorized and approved by actor Adrienne Barbeau (final figure to be revealed soon)
  • A limited edition 18″ x 24″ poster of the original theatrical artwork AND a limited edition 28.5″ x 16.5” rolled poster of the newly designed Steelbook artwork from artist Devon Whitehead (these will ship rolled, in a poster tube)
  • A 7” on exclusive black and blue merge vinyl via Sacred Bones featuring music from The Fog composed by John Carpenter and recorded by John, Cody Carpenter, and Daniel Davies. The A-side includes the 2017 version of “The Fog Theme” and the B-side contains a never-before-released recording of “Walk To The Lighthouse” recorded by the trio in 2019. Up next is the 2013 remake of Evil Dead from Fede Alvarez. The extras for the film are still unannounced, but it should include the theatrical cut and the 96-minute director’s cut as well. This one releases on September 27th, 2022.

Finally, we have the biggest announcement, a 4K UHD release for Army of Darkness. This will also release on September 27th, 2022 and has a nice suite of extras to go with it. The extras on disc are still being worked on, but if you get the most deluxe edition, it comes with a set of enamel pins from Gutter Garbs. There’s also a SteelBook edition of the film. As with any ScreamFactory release like this, they all come with posters of the art commissioned for the release.
