Camp Half-Blood has some new campers. Everyone, it’s time to meet Clarisse La Rue, Nancy Bobofit, and Luke Castellan.
We reported casting was underway for these roles in the Percy Jackson series at the start of May. Now, Variety reports Dior Goodjohn, Olivea Morton, and Charlie Bushnell have officially joined the Disney+ show.
Goodjohn will play Clarisse, a daughter of Ares, God of War. The role is described as a recurring guest star, which makes sense if you’ve read Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson books. (Clarisse first appears in The Lightning Thief, but becomes a bigger character in Sea of Monsters.)
Goodjohn recently appeared in HBO Max’s Head of the Class reboot. Her other credits include Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Raven’s Home.
Morton will play Nancy, a sort of “teacher’s pet” who seems to really have it out for Percy. This will be Morton’s first major TV role.
Bushnell will play Luke, the cool camp counselor of Hermes cabin. Bushnell’s role is also described as a recurring guest star, as Luke’s character continues to play a role in future books/seasons. Bushnell previously appeared in the Disney+ series Diary of a Future President.
Goodjohn, Morton, and Bushnell join previously announced cast members, including the core Percy Jackson trio of Walker Scobell (Percy), Aryan Simhadri (Grover), and Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth).
About Percy Jackson
Percy Jackson & the Olympians tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. Now Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus.
The upcoming Disney+ series is based on the YA novels by Rick Riordan.
While Disney has yet to reveal a release window for the series, production is already underway.
