Another actor is joining the Guardians. According to Deadline, Nico Santos will appear in the upcoming feature Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
Santos, known for his role in NBC comedy Superstore, will play a part in the Marvel film. At this time, plot details – as well as details about Santos’ role – are being kept under wraps.
Santos joins a number of previously announced stars jumping into the Galaxy for Vol. 3, including Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova and Daniela Melchior of The Suicide Squad (another James Gunn project). The Guardians themselves will return, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Karen Gillan. Sylvester Stallone, Elizabeth Debicki, Will Poulter, and Chuk Iwuji are also confirmed for the film.
Production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 kicked off in November 2021. Filming recently wrapped on the feature, which will conclude Gunn’s Guardians trilogy.
Besides Superstore, Santos is known for his role in the rom-com Crazy Rich Asians. He recently lent his voice to HBO Max series The Prince and Netflix’s animated feature Wish Dragon.
Though the feature has finished filming, it now heads into the lengthy process of post-production. In other words, we won’t see this movie for a while still; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters May 5, 2023. Until then, check back to THS for more updates.
You can stream the first two Guardians of the Galaxy films on Disney+ now.
