Good news: there’s going to be a Mob Psycho 100 season 3, and Crunchyroll will stream it! Bad news: this means that you’ll have to pay for the privilege of watching this anime.
A Mob No More?
Crunchyroll has just announced that they have acquired the rights to stream Mob Psycho 100 season 3. Apparently, Crunchyroll plans to simulcast this anime sometime in October 2022. The simulcast will happen in over 200 countries and territories around the world in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS that has access to Crunchyroll. This means that you can expect a load of subtitles (for those who want to watch it in the original Japanese audio) and dubs. English being one of them.
Unfortunately, the fact that Crunchyroll is streaming it means that we can also expect them to lock Mob Psycho 100 season 3 behind their shiny new paywall. It’s what Crunchyroll has been doing for the Spring 2022 anime season. There’s no reason for them to not continue that, and there’s certainly no word from them otherwise. I guess when this anime launches, we’ll just have to shell out cash for a premium account.
Mob Psycho 100 Season 3: Details
Mob Psycho 100 season 3 is the long-awaited third season of the hit anime, which is itself the anime adaptation of the award-winning manga of the same name by ONE (One-Punch Man, Bullet Angel Fan Club, Reigen). Bones (Soul Eater, Fullmetal Alchemist, My Hero Academia) remains the animation studio behind the anime. This third season of the anime features Takahiro Hasui as the director, unlike the previous seasons which featured the work of Yuzuru Tachikawa. Tachikawa, fortunately, still serves as the executive director of this season. Yoshimichi Kameda (One Punch Man; Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) is still responsible for character design, and Kenji Kawai (Ip Man; Ghost in the Shell; Death Note) is still composing the music.
As for what Mob Psycho 100 season 3 is about? Well, Crunchyroll wants to keep season 3 a secret for now, but they have the official synopsis for us to check out below:
“Shigeo Kageyama, a.k.a. “Mob,” is a boy who has trouble expressing himself, but who happens to be a powerful esper. Mob is determined to live a normal life and keeps his ESP suppressed, but when his emotions surge to a level of 100%, something terrible happens to him! As he’s surrounded by false espers, evil spirits, and mysterious organizations, what will Mob think? What choices will he make?”
In case you haven’t already done so, you can watch all of the previous seasons of Mob Psycho 100 on Crunchyroll. For free to boot.
