Director Todd Phillips confirmed that a sequel to 2019’s Joker is in the works on his Instagram on Tuesday. Included was a picture of star Joaquin Phoenix reading the script, and the cover of the script with the title “Joker: Folie à Deux.” The script is written by Phillips and Scott Silver.

We’ll keep you updated on this story as it develops. The phrase “Folie a Deux” translates to madness for two in English, and it also describes when two people have the same psychosomatic illness. We’ll have to see when we get more details about the film.
