It’s official: Peacock’s Twisted Metal series has found its Sweet Tooth. Will Arnett just joined the cast of the video game adaptation.
Twisted Metal previously announced Arnett as an executive producer, leading fans to speculate he would also act in the series. Now, we have confirmation that yes, Arnett will also star in the show. He joins previously announced cast members, including Anthony Mackie, Thomas Haden Church, Stephanie Beatriz, and Neve Campbell.
Arnett’s character Sweet Tooth is described as “a hilarious and terrifying hulk of a man, who is as emotional as he is cunning. A lover of chaos, this majestic rage-filled killer dons an ever-smiling clown mask and uses “Lost Vegas” as his own personal kill-ground, all while he drives his infamous doomsday ice cream truck.”
Peacock’s Twisted Metal comes from Cobra Kai writer Michael Jonathan Smith. Described as a “half-hour, high-octane action comedy,” it follows a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck. The series is based on the original PlayStation game series of the same name.
Smith serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer for Twisted Metal. Kitao Sakurai (The Eric Andre Show) will executive produce and direct multiple episodes.
