Breaking news, folks! The wait for Obi-Wan Kenobi ends in less than an hour! In a surprising turn of events, Lucasfilm announced minutes ago that the brand new series on Disney+ would air early. Instead of airing at new shows’ usual debut time of midnight, Pacific Time, the show will instead air three hours early. That’s right – Ewan McGregor returns in his most popular role at 9:00 PST.

Kenobi

Star Wars Celebration 2022, while giving us a lot on its first day, was still all about Kenobi. In dramatic fashion, stars Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen took the stage earlier today to a live chorus performing Duel of the Fates. The epic, John Williams masterpiece, featured in The Phantom Menace, remains one of the most iconic Star Wars musical pieces of the entire franchise.

Obi-Wan Kenobi to premier early

Granted, the  show’s star and show director Deborah Chow didn’t reveal much this morning. Notwithstanding, they did still surprise fans in panel attendance. Each received a ticket to the premiere of the show at 7:00 pm PST this evening at Star Wars Celebration. If we’re being honest, I think we all know that the 7:00 showing is the reason for Obi-Wan Kenobi to debut early. There will be a few thousand people with first-hand knowledge of what happens in the first two episodes. Disney ain’t no dummy – to keep a lid on spoilers, they had to drop the show early.

Kenobi

Thus, fans’ long wait to see Ewan McGregor back as Obi-Wan Kenobi is nearly over. At this writing we’ll find out what happens to the fallen Jedi Master in a little less than fifty minutes. A short time in which to keep your excitement in check, indeed.
