Well, it seems like Mary Elizabeth Winstead will be part of the Ahsoka series on Disney+. How do we know this? Well, there’s the source for one thing. It’s hard to argue with Winstead’s very own spouse: Ewan McGregor. Especially when it appears to be completely accidental.
Ewan McGregor’s Happy Big Mouth in Action
During an interview with Vanity Fair, Ewan McGregor let slip that Mary Elizabeth Winstead was going to be in the Ahsoka series. Well, not so much in those words. His exact quote was a single sentence that simply said:
“My partner, Mary, is doing that Star Wars series with Rosario and she’s about to start.”
Really, there’s literally no other Star Wars show involving Rosario Dawson that McGregor could possibly be referring to. That one line alone is basically confirmation that Mary Elizabeth Winstead will be in the Ahsoka series. It’s unofficial confirmation to boot, since Vanity Fair notes that “Lucasfilm hadn’t previously confirmed rumors that Mary Elizabeth Winstead will be in Ahsoka, but…now they don’t have to”.
Unfortunately, that’s the only thing Ewan McGregor clarifies about Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s role in the Ahsoka series. He makes no mention of who Winstead will be playing in the Disney+ series, nor what she will even be doing in that role. It’s probably for the best of him. It shows that he can keep some secrets after all. Probably a good thing for Mr. Obi-Wan Kenobi, after all.
Ahsoka: Details
Here’s what we know so far about the Ahsoka series. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are developing the Star Wars series, with Filoni responsible for writing. Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as the titular Ahsoka Tano from The Mandalorian, with Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker somehow and Natasha Liu Bordizzo playing Star Wars Rebels character Sabine Wren. Ray Stevenson will play a villainous admiral, while the aforementioned Mary Elizabeth Winstead along with Ivanna Sakhno in undisclosed roles.
If you want to know what the Ahsoka series will be about, that will have to wait for later. Lucasfilm and Disney haven’t even released a synopsis for it yet. Fortunately, we do know that this Star Wars series will make its debut on Disney+ sometime in 2023. Exactly when is up for debate. Tune in later to see exactly when Lucasfilm and Disney will premiere this series. Whenever that will be.
