UPDATE: Sources have since stated that it was likely that Daniel Craig would portray Balder The Brave instead of Reed Richards.

So we all should know about the Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness at this point. They were shown off in trailers for the film. However, if you haven’t seen the movie yet, this is your spoiler warning. According to Deadline Film Reporter, Justin Kroll, John Krasinski wasn’t the first choice for Reed Richards in the film.

He doesn’t explicitly say “it was Daniel Craig”, but the GIF he chose and the description of the actor is spot-on for Craig. Krasinski was the fan-cast choice for the role, especially with people clamoring for his wife Emily Blunt to play Sue Storm in a future Fantastic Four film. By all accounts, some of the various sources on the internet are saying that Krasinski’s appearance in the film was a “trial run” of some sort. If they’re interested in Daniel Craig for the role, that would be infinitely awesome on so many levels. Craig is a fantastic actor and is many people’s favorite iteration of James Bond.

This, of course, is not confirmed by anyone at Marvel, Disney, or that was involved on the set, but Kroll is about as in tune as they come when it comes to film reporters. The other thing we can say about this is, screw COVID-19 for taking away Daniel Craig as Reed Richards from us.

What do you think of this? Would you have wanted to see Craig as Reed Richards? Would you want to see him in the future as the character?
