By now, Spy x Family fans are familiar with the classy black assassin’s outfit Yor dresses up in for work, right? Well, those aren’t the only outfits Yor dresses up in. One cosplayer wants to show us that, personally.
The Yor Everyday Fashion Line: A Study in Comfort
Veteran cosplayer @Kitaro_cos has taken to social media sites like Facebook and Instagram to show off her new cosplay costumes for Yor from Spy x Family. 3 of them, to be precise. All 3 of these costumes strive to mimic an outfit Yor has worn around the Forger family house during her normal daily life with them. You can check out Yor’s actual outfits from the manga below:
As you can see, the costumes @Kitaro_cos is wearing are nearly identical to the outfits Yor is wearing in Spy x Family. In fact, the middle costume with the red sweater appears to be identical. The costume on the right is almost an exact match. The only difference is in the red color of the stripes, but you can excuse that due to the low resolution of the manga picture.
The only issue I have is with the costume on the left. The costume mostly matches the outfit, save for the blouse and possibly the belt. The belt I can excuse because there doesn’t seem to be any other way to hold up the skirt. The blouse though clearly has a different pattern than the one Yor wears. You can see that @Kitaro_cos’s blouse also has a flower pattern on it, but it seems to be a different pattern than the one on Yor’s blouse. It’s a minor quibble, admittedly, considering the rest of the costume. That might’ve been the only white, flower-patterned blouse she had. All in all, I’d give her cosplay efforts a 90 of out 100. It’s not perfect, but it’s still very good cosplay. Here’s to more cosplay in general, and not just for Spy x Family!
