Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is almost here, and everything’s coming up Wanda.
A new featurette from Marvel looks at what the upcoming multiverse film means for the Scarlet Witch. The clip explores how the character’s journey in the Disney+ series WandaVision will connect to the Doctor Strange sequel.
And Marvel knows exactly how to transport fans right back to their WandaVision feelings. The Multiverse of Madness featurette kicks off with a voiceover from Vision delivering one of the show’s most iconic lines: “What is grief if not love persevering?”
The clip reveals footage of Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as well as commentary from key actors and creatives involved with the film. Marvel president Kevin Feige confirms the upcoming movie will feature multiple versions of both Doctor Strange and Wanda from various universes.
And playing up their alternate selves gives the actors an interesting challenge. Benedict Cumberbatch praises Olsen’s work in the film, calling it a “very powerful performance with a very powerful character.”
Finally, the film’s director Sam Raimi wants fans to know the movie understands how important Wanda is to MCU fans.
“We wanted to satisfy the WandaVision fans and take them to the next level with a character they love,” Raimi said.
