Paramount’s CinemaCon Presentation showed off footage for a lot of upcoming projects that they are releasing in the next year. One interesting film that had just a little bit of footage shown off was Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
With this film not releasing until March 3rd, 2023, some footage being shown off already is a very good sign.
Deadline did say this about the small section of footage that was shown off:
The quick glance at Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves starring Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez has the production quality of a top-notched historical epic; nothing hokey looking like the 2000 movie; a huge bet on reviving the role playing series for the big screen. Lush landscape locations are the co-star here, further demanding that this movie be seen on the big screen.
With Deadline saying all of this, we might be looking at a box office hit.
But it’s also worth noting a few things. One is this apparently looks better than the 2000s film. Everyone of a certain age and generation has seen the 2000s film. And a lot of those people will agree, it’s not good and it didn’t age well. But this film could be what the entertainment side of the game needs.
One other thing to note that Deadline mentioned is that the “Lush landscape locations are the co-star here.” They shot the film in different locations in England, and that plays into the film looking amazing.
There’s still more to learn about this film before it releases on March 3rd, 2023. And we’re just getting started with getting small details about it.
