Disney’s 2022 CinemaCon presentation teased a ton of great content for fans today. The studio brought a team of big names to reveal new details about Disney’s upcoming theatrical slate. Disney’s head of theatrical distribution, Tony Chambers, along with Marvel president Kevin Feige and Avatar producer Jon Landau offered updates on some of the studio’s most anticipated titles, including Avatar 2 and the Buzz Lightyear feature film.

Here’s what you missed at Disney’s CinemaCon presentation.

Amsterdam

Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington in AMSTERDAM

CinemaCon attendees saw a sizzle reel of footage from David O. Russell’s latest film, Amsterdam. The original romantic crime epic follows three close friends (played by Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington) who find themselves at the center of one of the most shocking secret plots in American history.

Avatar 2

James Cameron

James Cameron’s highly anticipated sequel to Avatar will finally arrive this December. The CinemaCon presentation revealed the official title, Avatar: The Way of Water. It also announced the trailer would debut with the theatrical premiere of Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Learn more about the updates on Avatar 2 here.

The Bob’s Burgers Movie

The Belcher family will make their way onto the big screen May 27. CinemaCon attendees got to screen the first six minutes of The Bob’s Burgers Movie. The animated musical comedy-mystery-adventure based on the long-running Emmy-winning series showcases the voices of H. Jon Benjamin, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, Larry Murphy, John Roberts, and Kristen Schaal, with Zach Galifianakis and Kevin Kline.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Marvel is notoriously tight-lipped about their features, and the hype surrounding Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is huge. But with the theatrical release of the film only a week away, Marvel let CinemaCon attendees watch an extended scene from the movie. It featured the wedding scene of Rachel McAdams’ character (as teased in the trailer). It also gave fans a look at new hero America Chavez (aka Ms. Marvel) in action.

During the presentation, Marvel’s Kevin Feige also teased the studio’s plans for the next decade.

Lightyear

Finally, Pixar gave fans a huge peek at Lightyear, screening the first 30 minutes of the animated feature. The Chris Evans-voiced Buzz Lightyear story will premiere in theaters June 17. We got to see the first half hour of Lightyear last week, so you can check out our thoughts here.
